چکیده

Cloves is one of the main plantation commodities and native to Indonesia. Leaf spot disease with necrosis symptom often found in clove plants. Interferences photosynthesis caused by leaf can cause plant death. Bacillus known inhibit development pathogens through nutrient competition antibiosis mechanism. This study aims identify sp. Relationship of Bacillus subtilis clades associated with strains 168 and W23: a proposal for Bacillus subtilis subsp. subtilis subsp. nov. and Bacillus subtilis subsp. spizizenii subsp. nov.

Earlier phylogenetic studies based on the inferred DNA sequences of the polC, rpoB and gyrA genes suggested that strains of the species Bacillus subtilis formed two clusters, indicating the presence two closely related taxa; one contained the laboratory strain 168 and the other the laboratory strain W23. Significant sexual isolation was found between strain 168 and members of the group containi...

Complete Genome Sequence of Bacillus subtilis subsp. subtilis Strain 3NA

Bacillus subtilis 3NA reaches high cell densities during fed-batch fermentation and is an interesting target for further optimization as a production strain. Here, we announce the full genome of B. subtilis 3NA. The presence of specific Bacillus subtilis 168 and W23 genetic features suggests that 3NA is a hybrid of these strains.

Complete Genome Sequence of Bacillus subtilis subsp. subtilis Strain ∆6

Bacillus subtilis ∆6 is a genome-reduced strain that was cured from six prophages and AT-rich islands. This strain is of great interest for biotechnological applications. Here, we announce the full-genome sequence of this strain. Interestingly, the conjugative element ICEBs1 has most likely undergone self-excision in B. subtilis ∆6.

Bacillus subtilis as potential producer for polyhydroxyalkanoates

Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are biodegradable polymers produced by microbes to overcome environmental stress. Commercial production of PHAs is limited by the high cost of production compared to conventional plastics. Another hindrance is the brittle nature and low strength of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), the most widely studied PHA. The needs are to produce PHAs, which have better elastomeric pr...

Bacillus subtilis as a Host for Recombinant Hemagglutinin Production of the Influenza A (H5N1) Virus

Abstract Background and Aims: Influenza A(H5N1) viruses  circulating in animals might evolve and acquire the ability to spread from  human to human and thus start a pandemic. Hemagglutinin (HA) has been shown to play a major role in binding of influenza virus to its target cell and the main neutralizing antibody responses elicit against this region. Recent studies have shown that...
